Ive never really sat down to watch a romantic Japanese movie in a long while, yes of course the Il Mare but its on different scale when compared to this one.
The story begins with the life of a father and son, trying to fill for the absence of Mio, wife of Takumi and mother of Yuji. She made a promise before her death that she will come back during the rainy season. Quite mysteriously during the rainy season of one particular year, while the were in the forest, they meet a women who looks exactly like Mio, but she dsnt have any memory of who she is or what she is to them. Story moves on as Yuji and Takumi rebuilds their life with Mio's return and once again falling love. Will Mio finally realize who she is or how she got there ? Will their love still hold on ? The way the story unwinds its just shear beauty, even more so with fantastic direction and camera work, making this movie irresistible and impossible not to have your eyes wet while being completely oblivious during the entire length of the movie.
I could say a thousand cheesy sentences about this movie and still feel unsatisfied having not being able to express it completely because this movie is beyond words. So I am going to skip that all together and leave it to you to feel and experience it for yourself.

Definitely a Must Watch.
